My sisters wedding

My sister Alisha recently got married on September 22, 2022. I was really excited to have helped my sister with her wedding day jewels and her husband Caleb with creating her ideal engagement ring/wedding band. The engagement ring and wedding band were something I worked on over a year ago, but I’m extremely proud of how they turned out and she absolutely loves them. I don’t usually offer custom engagement rings as something I specialize in, but obviously made an exception for her since she is my sister! I’ll create a separate post about her engagement ring and open up spots to have myself create one of your own if you’d like in the future, so for now let’s talk her wedding day jewels!

Styling jewelry for a wedding is my ideal dream job, so when my sister asked me to do so, I was pumped! The catch? She had three different dresses!  So I had some work to do. First and foremost, I wanted her to decide what her dream jewels would look like via inspiration photos and when she sent over some screenshots from Goshwara’s Instagram, I immediately got excited. Goshwara is one of my favorite jewelry brands and I have had the pleasure of meeting the designer in Vegas at Couture. I was so grateful Goshwara agreed to letting my sister borrow a bracelet and a pair of earrings for her to wear on her wedding day! She chose blue topaz pieces to fulfill her “something borrowed AND something blue.”  The bracelet was both delicate and statement-making, along with the matching earrings that really complemented the blue in her hazel eyes. The earrings were really such a perfect size as well!

My gift to my sister on her wedding day was a Yearly Co. delicate diamond bangle to start a yearly tradition of adding a bangle to her wrist every wedding anniversary. It is something I started doing last year (and finally caught up with the # of years/bangles) and my sister really liked my stack, so I was happy to start hers! Now her husband must continue the tradition. If you’re unfamiliar with Yearly Co, Ann who is the founder, started her company which makes gorgeous solid gold bangles in custom sizes (with lots of different styles and continually adds new & limited  ones) after her grandfather’s tradition of giving his wife a bangle every wedding anniversary. I also love that the brand is local to Nashville and I’ve visited the store numerous times! So her bangle was a part of her wedding day look which I thought really added to the classic style she was wanting for jewelry.

Alisha’s other dresses were styled with earrings in mind — we did long vintage pearl dangles for one of the dresses and smaller diamond drop studs for.the other dress. She opted not to wear a necklace with any of the looks, as well as keeping her right hand ring-free. With jewelry styling, I realized you really have to focus on the person wearing the jewels and their style, rather than your own! As you can see and if you’ve been reading my blog for some time, I love to load on the jewels and that look isn’t my sister. My jewelry look on her wedding day featured a.ring on almost every finger, big gold hoops, lots of bracelets and a simple necklace that matched the color of my dress.
