There is more to Super Bowl season than football, as Super Bowl collectibles play a significant role in any true fan’s lifestyle. Read on to learn about the best Super Bowl collectibles and what to seek out in this year’s Chiefs vs. Eagles match-up.

Super Bowl LIX: The Taylor Swift Team vs. The Igles

2025 is an interesting Super Bowl match-up, with the Kansas City Chiefs facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles. While I am a fairly loyal “Igles” fan with some Philly roots, as a pop culture aficionado, I am also fascinated by the Travis Kelce /Taylor Swift coupling frequently filmed during Chiefs games.

It’s rare to have an old-fashioned love story play out for the world to see, so whenever my teenage sons are watching football, I annoy them by asking if the “Taylor Swift team” is playing. Ok, I confess that I am not much of a sports watcher; however, by default or familial association, I have certainly watched my fair share of World Series games, Wimbledons, and Super Bowls. Truth be told, I am usually just in it for the snacks but sometimes also the memorabilia, which leads me to….

Super Bowl Collectibles 101

Many popular Super Bowl collectibles share two common features: they are easily displayed on office walls, man caves, or similar spaces, and they are associated with specific teams. Vintage goods like felt pennants easily fall into this categorization, with fans clamoring after old examples with retro designs and their preferred team prominently displayed. This 1968 Green Bay Packers vs. Oakland Raiders Super Bowl pennant sold for nearly $3000, with the added value of being a rare salesman’s sample.

Super Bowl collectors with ample wall and floor space also snatch up larger-scale memorabilia, from jerseys and jackets to actual stadium seats. No, these items are generally not sold to big-city apartment dwellers. You need space (and perhaps a full bar room) to install some old stadium seats that need to be bolted to the floor so as not to tip over while some tipsy football fan takes a seat.

Are you a Super Bowl collector with more limited interior real estate? Some of the most visually appealing Super Bowl collectibles are vintage ticket stubs and lanyards made for each year’s showdown. These can be put up on a much smaller wall space or just tucked away in a box with other Super Bowl ephemera to enjoy as needed. In addition to ticket stubs, other readily available examples include programs, roster sheets, media guides, posters, and flyers.

Jerseys to Pom Pom Hats

Regarding Super Bowl apparel, while jackets and jerseys are large to display if you have limited space, there are plenty of other smaller-size apparel collectibles to seek out.

Super Bowl hats are eternally popular with collectors, often as a way to brag about attendance or a friend’s attendance at a particular game (just like those old “My grandma went to Hawaii and all I got was this lousy t-shirt.”).

Both the traditional baseball hats and cold weather pom pom hats are sought-after. If you are seeking one of these hats, be sure to check on the condition, as discoloration is common in white baseball hats. For pom pom hats, check for holes and pilling. These condition issues can be remedied with a simple needle and thread or lint roller, but they also may grant you some negotiating power.

Kansas City Chiefs

If you are seeking out Super Bowl collectibles specific to this year’s match-up between the Chiefs and the Eagles, it is not surprising to see that rookie trading cards are fetching top dollar in today’s market. Would you pay $840,000 for a Patrick Mahomes 2017 signed rookie card? It’s hard to believe the astronomical value of some of these cards compared to actual Super Bowl rings, like this 2020 Chiefs Super Bowl LIV Championship ring, which sold for a measly $72,000 in comparison.

Super Bowl rings are lusted after by collectors, with a range of pricing depending on the team.

In addition, gear with Taylor Swift connections is also hot with collectors (or their wives and girlfriends). A vintage Chiefs windbreaker worn by Taylor Swift was so popular that manufacturers are now making knock-offs of the original vintage piece.

Philadelphia Eagles

For Eagles fans, there is no shortage of Super Bowl collectibles. Compared to the Kansas City examples, the market has been fairly flooded with Eagles Super Bowl rings with relatively bargain prices to boot. Eagles Super Bowl rings fetch a range of prices at auction.

Overall, Philly fans will be happy to hear that many vintage Eagles collectibles can be had for relatively lower prices than some other teams. This availability is partly because of the sheer quantity of Eagles memorabilia produced over the past ten years. For manufacturers, it is not much different to produce 10,000 Jason Kelce Mummers Parade Bobbleheads than just 1000.

As with all collectibles, seek out those produced in more limited supply or even those rare one-of-a-kind items like game-worn jerseys. Enjoy the hunt, and enjoy the game!
