Celebrity auctions are not uncommon; even if the items are ordinary, fans are eager to collect anything that belongs to their favorite celebrities, musicians, and stars. While not a movie star or rock legend, Steve Jobs was still a global figure, and an upcoming auction of some of his everyday items is getting a lot of notice.

RR Auction is offering several items from Steve Jobs’s incredible life and career. The “Steve Jobs and the Apple Computer Revolution” auction features 278 lots, including business cards, hardware, signed cards, and even a leather bomber jacket from an iconic photo of Jobs.

It’s not the first time some of the computer icon’s belongings have been under the hammer. In March 2024, RR Auctions handled a sale of 150 lots, and the star of that sale was a verified signed business card from Jobs, which sold for over $180,000.

The business card was highly valued because experts authenticated it through a process that included embedding an invisible chemical tag in the item and then sealing it in a locked and labeled plastic case. Having the embedded verification, a service that Professional Sports Authenticator offers for sports cards and other collectibles, means the item cannot be damaged or tampered with. The verification is a lifetime, one-of-a-kind process that will always prove authenticity.

Aside from the leather jacket, the Jobs auction includes some early hardware, a rare sealed 4 GB iPhone, more cards and autographs, and some video gaming pieces. The current Steve Jobs auction at RR Auction closes on August 22, 2024.

RR Auction is a leader in selling and preserving rare documents, manuscripts, autographs, and historic artifacts. Based in Boston, the auction house has handled high-value items from President John F. Kennedy, Truman Capote, and even crime duo Bonnie and Clyde.
