With Kingham Auctioneers’ Jewellery, Watches and Designer Goods sale taking place on February 23, we asked David Pregun, Consultant & Auctioneer in the Cotswolds auction house’s Jewellery and Watches department to select a few of his standout lots.
Lot 49 – a late Victorian silver and gold, ruby and old-cut diamond crescent brooch, estimated total ruby weight 4ct, estimated total diamond weight 2.25ct, predominantly H-I colour, SI1-P1 clarity, length 3.6cm, 12g
David said: “A highly collectable and large crescent brooch adorned with a series of graduated old-cut diamonds and a series of perfectly matched pinkish purplish red rubies. In very well-preserved condition. Estimate of £1,500-£2,000.”
Lot 46 – a 19th-century gold and silver, old-cut diamond cluster ring, with similarly-cut diamond accent shoulders, estimated total diamond weight 3.25ct, principal diamond estimated weight 1.10ct, I-J colour, VS2-SI1 clarity, ring size R, 5.8g
David said: “An exceptionally well-made antique cluster ring, featuring exquisite and very high quality old-cut diamonds, in fantastic condition. Estimate of £3,000-£4,000.”
Lot 255 – Rolex, a stainless steel Oyster Perpetual Air-King Precision bracelet watch, circa 1966, Explorer dial, reference 5500, signed automatic movement, serial 1417294, fitted to a signed stainless steel Oyster bracelet with Oysterclasp, case measures 34mm
David said: “A collectable and rare, vintage Rolex Air-King bracelet watch, with coveted 3-6-9 Explorer dial and original Dauphine hands, in overall great condition. Estimate of £1,500-£2,000.”
Lot 398 – Louis Vuitton, a python & alligator Monogramissime Exotic GM shopper, crafted from monogram coated canvas, featuring burgundy alligator and natural python skin trim, polished gold-tone hardware, rolled top handles with detachable clochette and keys, front lockable latch fastening, and burgundy alcantara interior lining, measuring 15.5 by 25 by 41cm
David said: “A rare, limited-edition bag that combines the iconic monogram canvas with the elegance of luxurious python and exotic alligator, creating a truly glamorous collector’s piece. Estimate of £800-£1,200.”
Lot 377 – Hermes, a 2017 Birkin 25 handbag, designed with a burgundy leather exterior with gold-tone hardware, dual rolled handles, top flap and crossover strap closure with turn-lock fastening, detachable clochette, padlock and keys and two interior side pockets, measuring 13 by 20 by 25cm, with maker’s care guide, rain protector, dust bag and box
David said: “The most sought-after and elusive bag currently on the market, the Birkin 25 is in such high demand due to its small, practical size. The holy grail of handbags. Estimate of £8,000-12,000.”
