A diamond line bracelet given to Elizabeth Taylor by Michael Jackson will be offered in a Wiltshire saleroom this month.
The late British-born actress and King of Pop were close friends over a 20-year period and Jackson apparently often gave her items of jewellery.
The auction house said that the bracelet is very current, with the popularity of diamond line bracelets achieving exceptional prices at auction. Elizabeth’s is set with 27 graduated step-cut yellow diamonds and is estimated to fetch up to £70,000 on January 30.
However, Woolley and Wallis believes that with such an outstanding provenance the piece could go way above estimate.
About her jewellery, Elizabeth Taylor is quoted as saying: “I feel as though I’m only the custodian of my jewellery. When I die and they go off to auction I hope whoever buys them gives them a really good home.”
Commenting on the bracelet Marielle Whiting, jewellery specialist at Woolley & Wallis, said: “We are extremely fortunate to be offering for sale in Salisbury, this beautiful and highly wearable diamond bracelet with truly legendary provenance that continues to live on.”
