Dorset map collection in January sale – Antique Collecting

A single owner collection of Dorset related books and maps are included the Charterhouse auction of pictures and books on January 4. 

The Dorset books and maps, along with atlases in the collection date from the 17th to 20th centuries and valued at £20 to £2,000.

“It is a great collection amassed over many years by local historian and retired academic David Beaton,” commented Richard Bromell. “David has had a long-time interest in maps. Highly regarded as a map expert, he printed the book Dorset Maps in 2001 which is highly sought after as a reference book today.”
