Released June 11, 1993, Jurassic Park grossed more than $914 million worldwide in its original theatrical run, becoming the highest-grossing film ever at the time, surpassing Spielberg’s own, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. Based on the Michael Crichton novel of the same name, Jurassic Park spawned five sequels and a resurgence in all things dinosaur.
